Clinics Maternity Care The doctors and our midwife provide full antenatal and postnatal care. The midwives share the care of patients with the doctors and hold their clinic every Wednesday at 11am. Child Immunisation Immunisation is vital for the continuing health care of children. Computer reminders are sent to your home when your Childs immunisation is due. We would like all children to benefit from full immunisation and if you have any queries, please discuss these with your health visitor or doctor. The clinic is Thursday 10am and is run by the health visitors in their colourful downstairs room. Child Health Surveillance The doctors and health visitors share this aspect of child health. The developmental checks are performed from birth onwards and we allow you time to discuss your child’s development. Parent and Baby Clinic Wednesday 2.00-3.30—no appointment needed The clinic is enjoyed by parents and babies alike. The health visitors give advice on any worries or problems that you may have about your young children. Well Person Clinics The Practice Nurses carry out the “well person health check”. Please telephone for an appointment and state this as the reason - a longer appointment is needed. Well Woman Clinic Dr Murgatroyd runs a weekly “woman's clinic” on Thursday afternoons. Within this clinic you can discuss any type of contraception (pill, mini-pill, diaphragm (cap), IUCD (coil), sterilisation counselling, emergency contraception and implants or injections), Hormone Replacement Therapy. The service allows time and of course full confidentiality for any age of patient. We actually see couples and men for men's issues and vasectomy counselling at this session. It is also sometimes used as a training session for our registrar. Also our practice nurses have family planning training and all doctors can discuss contraception with both male and female patients. |
