There are many members of staff who work at Meadowside Medical Practice, including doctors, training doctors, sisters, nurses, administration and reception staff. Doctors
Dr A J Craven (Male)

MB, ChB, FRCGP.
Dr Craven qualified from the University of Leeds in 1987. He is especially interested in diabetes, psychiatry, sports medicine and minor surgery. He is the Associate Director of General Practice Education at Manchester University.

Dr L J Davies (Female)

Dr Davies qualified from Manchester University in 2003. She has special interest in women's and sexual health, sports medicine and orthopaedics as well as minor surgery. She is involved in Medical Student training. |
Dr M D Denver (Male)

MB BS (Lond), DA (UK), Dip IMC RCS (Ed), MRCGP.
Dr Denver qualified from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in 1990. He served in the Royal Army Medical Corps from 1987 until 1997. He has special interest in Accident and Emergency medicine and pre-hospital care. He also works as a Hospital Practitioner in Accident and Emergency at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary. His other interests include minor surgery, sports medicine, orthopaedics and psychiatry. Dr Denver is a member of the charity Med-ALERT, a voluntary group of doctors who attend accidents in the Lancashire area.

Dr Gilbert qualified from Manchester University in 1995. She is interested in children's health, women's health, dermatology and minor surgery. Dr Gilbert is the Assistant General Practitioner at Meadowside Medical Practice and is also a medical student tutor.

Dr D S McDonnell (Male)

Dr McDonnell has special interest in skin problems, ear problems, ear, nose and throat problems, respiratory problems and asthma (N.A.C Diploma). He qualified from the University of Leicester in 1990 and is a trainer of General Practitioners. He also gained a Master's degree in General Practice from the University of Central Lancaster in 2004.

Dr M J Murgatroyd (Female)

MB BS (Lond,) MRCS (Eng), LRCP (Lond), FFRSH, MRCGP.
Dr Murgatroyd qualified from Guy's Hospital in London in 1971. She is a qualified Trainer of General Practitioners, an examiner of medical students and a Family Planning Instructing Doctor. She runs the weekly sexual health clinic at the practice. Dr Murgatroyd is a member of the British Medical Accupuncture Society (BMAS) and offers accupuncture by arrangement. She became a Fellow of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health Care in 2008.

Sisters
Sister Elizabeth Walsh

Sister Walsh qualified from St George's Hospital, London in 1969. She deals with all general practice nursing duties such as dressings, blood tests, injections, ear syringing, assisting with minor surgery, cervical smear tests, ECGs, family planning checks and HRT. She plans and administers travel vaccinations. Sister Walsh holds asthma and coronary heart disease (CHD) clinics. |
Sister Martine Todd

Sister Todd qualified from Royal Preston Hospital in 1992.She hold a weekly diabetic clinic. Alongside this, she also holds a chronic kidney disease (CKD) clinic. |
Sister Karen Fletcher

Sister Fletcher works alongside our GPs full time and holds her own clinics. She deals with general nursing duties, such as ECGs, vitamin B12 (and other) injections, blood tests, hypertension reviews, dressings, blood pressure checks and new patient checks. Sister Fletcher is in further training to be able to provide further nursing duties. She qualified from St Martins College, Lancaster (now the University of Cumbria) in 2001. |

Nurse Gaskell is the Treatment Room Nurse. She holds daily clinics to carry out ECGs, blood tests, new patient checks, smoking cessation, weight reduction advice, dressings and removal of sutures. She also assists the GPs in their specialised clinics, |
District Nurses

The District Nursing Team work as part of a multidisciplinary team based at Meadowside. They provide a specialist nursing service both in the community and in the practice treatment room. They also liaise with other agencies and Trusts to ensure an integrated service is provided including health education, information and support to patients, families and carers. They hold their own clinics at the surgery on Tuesday and Friday by appointment from 12 noon. |
Phlebotomist
Mrs Eileen Hankey

Miss Sarah Grant
